Upscale gift boxes filled with homemade or artisanal desserts make wonderful gifts for holidays, special occasions, or just to show someone how special they are.
How are Dessert Gift Boxes Different from Dessert Boxes?
Dessert Gift Boxes are made of sturdy materials. Common, everyday Bakery Boxes are light-weight, single use, disposable materials designed to do the job of protecting the dessert during transport at the lowest possible cost.
Common Bakery Boxes all are made in the same cookie cutter design for the type of dessert they hold. You may have in the better boxes some color or print on cardboard, but they are all pretty much the same.

Why Upscale a Dessert with a Fancy Gift Box?
Dessert Gift Boxes come in unique and elegant designs. They make a dessert into an elegant, thoughtful, special gift. It changes everything from “I didn’t want to go to a lot of trouble, so I stopped by the bakery and got you a cake” to “I put some effort into this because I want you to know how much you matter to me.”
Essentially it matters because a gift deserves to feel like a gift.
Holiday Gift Boxes also feature seasonal motifs to share sweet treats, adding a personal touch to your festive offerings.

Make Your Holiday Baked Gifts Look Fabulous
Holidays are special and baked gifts deserve special holiday treatment.

There are two ways dessert gift boxes might be used:
Hospitality and Gifting by Home Bakers
People who want to give desserts as gifts but want to dress it up like a "real" gift so the recipient feels like they are getting something special.
Professional Bakers
Professionals such as artisan bakers, cottage bakers, and patisseries can offer gift boxes to customers who are gifting the baking they are buying.
How to Use Bakery Gift Boxes
Depending on the dessert and the Bakery Gift Box you choose you may or may not need a common bakery box in addition to the gift box.
Some Bakery Gift Boxes are outer containers or tote bags and you will need a bakery box to protect the dessert before putting it in the Bakery Gift Box or Tote.
Examples:
1) Common Bakery Box + Gift Packaging
You would put cookies or confections into dessert bags and then place those bags into the metallic cylinder which is the gift packaging.
Side Note: My mom used to save Pringles Potato Chip containers. The cylinder idea for packaging foods is great, but if you have to, use a nice cylinder - like this one!
You would put a slice of cake or pie into its protective dessert box and then put that box into the colorful gift tote bag or gift tote purse.
2) Gift Box Only
You could put a beautiful cake or entremet into a Baker Gift Box designed for cakes and such. You would put the cake or entremet onto a silver or gold foiled cake board and place it on the bottom of the Gift Box, which has a firm bottom for this. The clear sides are designed to show off your dessert.

Decorate the Box
While some gift boxes need no decoration, some need a ribbon or bow. Some boxes are elevated bakery boxes - they are much nicer than standard, but you will want to decorate them with ribbon add that final touch that says “Gift!”.
