Balsam Essences

There are two broad categories of balsam essences: the exotic, sweet, sultry, ambery essences that are derived from the oleoresins and the sharp, fresh, invigorating aroma of the needles or leaves that really wakes you up with that refreshimg aroma.

Resins give us that warm, sultry, sensual note in perfumes. They are also popular in incense and aromatherapy diffusers for a luxurious and heady ambiance. Therapeutically their value ranges from bronchodilators to high-end wrinkle creams in department stores and spas.

That bright, pungent yet warm and enveloping and soothing aroma that wakes us up to a brisk day with crisp air. These are the evergreens. It reminds us of Christmas trees, mountains, and snowy peaks. They have tones of warm resin from their saps that are slightly sweet and intoxicating. 

Evergreens are great for brisk after shave. They are strong cleaners and disinfectants and great for clearing the sinuses.
