    Stand mixer with paddle and whisk
    Spatula
    Small prep bowl for blooming the gelatin

    Make sure the shortening is at room temperature.

    Confectioner's Sugar
    Crisco Shortening
    Vanilla Extract

  • Ingredients

    Confectioner's Sugar 5 cups
    Crisco Shortening 1 cup
    Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp
    Water 1/4 cup

  • Steps

    STEP 1:  Dissolve unflavored gelatin in cold water.

    STEP 2:  Heat the gelatin until clear. then let it cool.

    STEP 3: Cream the shortening, powdered sugar, and vanilla in the stand mixer. First mix well with the paddle then switch to the whisk an whip a minute or two until smooth

    STEP 4:Whisk in the gelatin and whisk for about 10 minutes on medium high.
