Clean regularly
Use a non-abrasive sponge, warm water, and dish soap to wash your copper kettle by hand. You can also use a soft cloth and soapy water to wipe down your copper kettle daily or after use to remove dirt, grease, and excess water.
Dry thoroughly
Copper tarnishes quickly when wet, so dry your copper kettle immediately after washing it. Avoid air-drying, as it can cause water spots.
Empty the kettle
To prevent rust and bacteria growth, empty any remaining water from your kettle and place it on a cool surface after use.
Avoid the dishwasher
The heat and harsh detergents in dishwashers can damage copper.
Use a natural cleaner
You can make a natural cleaner by mixing lemon juice or vinegar with baking soda to create a sudsy mixture. Apply the mixture to the copper, buff with a soft cloth, rinse with water, and dry.
Use a lemon
You can also gently rub a slice of lemon against the copper to remove stains.
Use cola
If your copper is oxidized, you can soak it in cola, scrub it with an impregnated cloth, rinse with warm water, and dry with a clean cloth.
